Citronela Lodge

Citronela Lodge, a small hotel just outside the village, offers a quiet and natural environment for total relaxation. The rustic cottages are laid out in such a way that they do not interfere with each other. From the private terrace you can only see the jungle and nature.
The spacious windows in the bathroom create the feeling of an open-air shower.
Erickson, the manager, is extremely helpful and communicative.
The accommodation is particularly suitable for couples and people looking for a quiet getaway for two.
There is a small communal kitchen and those who don't want to cook can enjoy delicious meals from the family's local cuisine.
Arrival by car is recommended as the lodge is just outside the village.
Hostel Ecoforest of the sea
Ecoforest of the sea is an eco-friendly hostel located right by the sea (about 250 meters). It offers a breathtaking view of the jungle from the communal terrace, and is surrounded by lush rain forest. Whether you prefer a single room, dorm or even a tent, there is something for everyone.
The hostel has a strong focus on sustainability and offers a variety of eco-friendly activities, such as hiking through the rain forest along the beach, snorkeling in the sea and workshops (for example: making coconut oil).
There is a small waterfall nearby that is quite unknown, so you will encounter few to no people.
Elmer and Maria, the owners, are very open and outgoing. They love meeting new people and they believe that everyone can learn from each other, especially when different cultures meet. They are also very open to tips and suggestions for expanding the hostel. You can be sure: If you have an idea and share it with them, it will be implemented as soon as possible.
There is a small kitchen where you can prepare your food, or you can let Maria cook for you for a small contribution of 6-10 dollars per meal: you will want to do it again, because she cooks incredibly delicious food!
By staying here, you can experience nature in all its splendor and at the same time make a positive contribution to the protection of the environment.

La Katalinda

Hotel Katalinda is a quiet retreat outside the village, ideal for wildlife watching as it borders a large dense forest where monkeys, parrots and toucans can be seen. From the terrace you can enjoy the breathtaking sunset. Directly adjacent to the terrace is the huge communal kitchen at your disposal. If you don't feel like cooking, you can enjoy delicious meals in one of the two restaurants, which are each between 5 and 7 minutes walk away. The beach is also very close: just a 10-minute walk and you're at the sea.
There are small trees in front of the terrace which, with a bit of luck, will attract not only normal hummingbirds but also the world's smallest hummingbird (which is only about 5 cm small!).
The rooms are spacious and all have en-suite bathrooms.
As the hotel is on a hill, it is not as hot as in the village centre:
There is a fresh sea breeze passing by all day long.
Honestly, for me it's a hidden garden paradise overlooking the sea.
Sunrise Lodge

This new place offers you peace, privacy and a retreat from the noisy village. The accommodation is simple, but very clean and equipped with the essentials. There is a restaurant on the premises that provides meals if you want to enjoy total comfort.
The rooms are perfect for relaxing after strenuous activities or for a longer stay, as they are spacious and have private bathrooms for maximum privacy. Although there is no air conditioning, a fan is available. There is also a parking space for your car.
At the back of the property is a spacious finca with palm trees,
which you can use for a walk during the day.
The hotel is close to a river and the beach is only about a 15-minute walk away.
On the property itself, you can watch many different birds, especially in the morning. So it is also suitable for those who are interested in birdlife and bird-watching.
