My story and how I live today.
I am Kirani Eugster, a young Swiss woman. I emigrated when I was 19 years old.
My story started when I was a little girl and I dreamed of going on a trip around the world and finding a country that I liked. I would then stay there and contribute, adapt and learn as much as I could about the other culture so that I would come across as a local.
I went to high school, worked part-time and collected the money I needed to start my journey. Then came the pandemic... I fell into a deep depression because now I could not live my dream. But by some inexplicable means, Costa Rica appeared in my mind and I saw that it was possible to travel there with few restrictions and in the middle of this difficult period.
I was 19 years old when I decided to leave everything behind. I broke up with my boyfriend at the time and bought the ticket to Costa Rica.
I was totally lost at the beginning, so alone on the other side of the world. It felt like I was empty and like I was looking for something. At the beginning, I didn't understand what the reason for my journey was.
After some time searching for myself through the world and Costa Rica, I realized a few things. The country had an enormous impact on me and helped me to get to know myself better. When I saw the immense natural wonders of the country, I felt closer to God and finally realized that I was looking for something that had always been inside me.
I felt more and more free and traveled the whole country by bus and after a while I bought a motorbike and finally fell in love with the untouched south of Costa Rica. The few tourists who came here made the untouched nature seem even more pristine and the variety of animals and the colors of nature made a lasting impression on me. The south is very green and has several climate zones in a small area.
I decided to stay here and now live in Perez Zeledon in the mountains, together with my rescued dog Kiara and a cat. Through my love of the country and my desire to show others what it has to offer, I created my website.
I started a company to offer my various services. My goal is to show people the beauty of southern Costa Rica while supporting local family businesses.
I am committed to promoting sustainable tourism and like to recommend small, family businesses to help grow the local economy. I believe that everyone who visits the country will develop a deeper appreciation for its nature and culture, and I hope that my recommendations and tips will help others to experience this.
